He is a graduate of Albany Law School, LeMoyne College, and Albany academy. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, real property, elder law, and general law. He is a member of the Albany County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the LaSalle School Foundation. He is married to Judith Knapp.

Kennedy and mother of Joseph, Theresa, and Anne Kennedy.
